Red Tier Items are place holders for more tiers to be implemented, they weren't "supposed" to be in the game yet, but have been placed in chest in some seeds. I know of a few seeds that have chest with red recipes but the chance of finding one off a mob drop is literally like trying to win the Mega Millions Lottery.
Can you list the seeds here for interested people like myself? There's a list of four on the seeds page on the cubeworldforum wiki, do you happen to know any more? off topic: where did you get your name from?
The Secret of the Source of my name is known to very few.(Aka I had no creativity when I was 12) I just cut the afro off like a week ago. I miss it already.
Ahh I understand, It was a recipe for a +60 power wand. However the damage on it is already higher then a +60 legendary yellow staff. I was surprised that it even dropped, and then the fact that to make it only cost about 16 wood blocks and nothing else.
The afro is dead! /mourn.... Also - we have ban management working great So many hackers... not even funny. We've banned probably 50 so far.
Mind = blown Back on topic, red items are items above yellow rarity which start popping up because of Wolfram's theoretically infinite progression code, or they just had their rarity set above yellow by editing the hex codes.
its actually not infinite, it starts at 0 (white) and ends at 254. 5-254 are all red and each number up increases the items power exponentially i do believe. The fact that red items just have the base name and retain the look of yellow items was because they weren't supposed to be in the game yet. Their was a post on Reddit where someone went in-depth on what they were and the chances of finding one (which was roughly the same chance as winning the lottery)

Yeah, after people heard they could be found legit everyone started hacking them in. However there are a few of us with legit recipes, like myself I've got Red rogue gloves and Red wand. I'd happily make them for someone, at a small price ;P.

I have the formulas to a 97 sword and gloves. Don't worry man; I can't find diamonds either ;-;. But I don't really go caving...
