    Can we use abuse bugs that alter appearances but has no actual use in combat?

    As long as it doesn't help you in combat it should be fine. So go ahead :p. If someone gives you trouble for it tell them to PM me D:. However I am suppose to tell you no hacking ;D.

    There's a lot of anti-cheat that will block non-legit physical appearance. You will probably be barred/kicked when joining.

    That doesn't apply to spirit cubes on your armor, so you're fine for that.
