I think that if you can break the combat and avoid getting hit while drinking a potion, then you're doing it right. Their DPS will usually be at least twice as the negative DPS of your potion, so if you get hit, you're doing it wrong. Also, they could be using the time window to be drinking potions themselves instead of trying to hit you. It's a complicated mechanic when applied to PvP, but essentially, If someone is using potions, they don't want to die. If you're trying to kill them, just focus on hitting them, because you will likely outdo the potion's effects. If only there could be an internal mechanic that capped the amount of potions during combat. This mechanic like other mmos would recognize a length of time of which you weren't being hit and would put you out of combat thus resetting these internal cool downs and allowing unlimited potion use again. If I have access to 50 potions of each rank from 90 - 97 I can live pretty much infinitely.
As annoying as they are, they are a completely legitimate part of the game. If you refuse to use potions yourself, for whatever reason that may be, then that's your own fault. I don't use potions myself though .
Pots are hard to use in any pvp situation because of the knock down moves and the distance closing moves, which every class has.
It's like playing League of Legends on a 5v5 without recalling. Ever. Only running back. EDIT: What I'm saying is, it's fine using potions. It's part of the game.
Seriously, even NPCs use potions, and any ability you have that can stun? Yeah. It kinda stops people from drinking potions. A fully charged attack has a chance to stun. USE IT. I've always stopped NPCs from drinking by charging them. omgsry i thawt dat potz wer op i jus folowd da recamended omgsry
Lower the effectiveness of potions, allow them to be used so that you can regain health while moving but so that you can be killed while using them, like mabey a cool down on the potions or just that they heal almost nothing.
Well, In all honesty, I don't use Potions that much, seeing as I'm a water Mage. but for some reason the healing is derped and It heals then takes half my health ;l
working as intended. Its impossible for the server to lower your client side heals, so whenever you heal i just deal 67% of the heal back in damage. they are invisible damage hits tho.
